Yantian health authority awarded for excellent childbirth-related services
Recently, the country's top health authority awarded the Yantian District Health Commission for its outstanding efforts in providing childbirth services. The district's health commission was honored as the "2021-2023 Excellent Department for Childbirth Support," making it the sole department in Shenzhen to receive this accolade.
To balance the development of the country’s population, Yantian has long been implementing the three-child policy, providing comprehensive infant-care services to the public, supporting vulnerable local families, and actively working toward becoming a society that is supportive of childbirth and child-raising.
Better environment
To promote the implementation of the three-child policy and its supporting measures, Yantian has popularized the policy as well as modern views on marriage and scientific parenting methods through digital platforms and physical events. The best part is, whether a woman is expecting her first or subsequent child, all she needs to do is register with the district and there's no need to wait for approval before giving birth.
Excellent services
In recent years, Yantian District has been actively promoting the establishment of a comprehensive maternal and child health care system that connects the district's maternity hospital, people’s hospital, and community health centers. Through regular supervision and assessment, projects such as maternal and child health management have supported Yantian in achieving the top rank in basic public health assessments across the city for four consecutive years. Additionally, Yantian has launched nighttime and weekend outpatient services for office workers, children, and students. The construction of the comprehensive building of the maternal and child health hospital has been expedited. Data shows that over the past three years, Yantian's key indicators of maternal and child health have all met standards with important restrictive indicators such as maternal and infant mortality rates among the best in the city.
Improved nursery services
Yantian has been promoting the integration of childcare and kindergarten education, encouraging qualified kindergartens to enroll toddlers between two and three years old in the district.
Three-child policy implemented
Yantian has proactively organized various events designed to boost the public's understanding of legal matters, thereby ensuring the proper enforcement of maternity leave policies. In terms of housing, the district has revised the public rental housing allocation system and home-buying preferential policies, taking into consideration families with more than three children when selecting suitable housing options. Furthermore, in line with the "Double Reduction" policy, Yantian has successfully alleviated academic burdens on local students by conducting thorough inspections of all off-campus training institutions and taking resolute actions against any violations. Moreover, Yantian has established an inclusive, high-quality, and diverse public preschool education system that guarantees ample spots for children in the area.
Assistance to families in need
The financial reward for parents of an only child in the district and special assistance funds are distributed timely and accurately. Yantian also purchases accident insurance for eligible one-child families and vulnerable families (referring to families with only children with a disability level of three or more, or who have not given birth or adopted children again).
In terms of medical care, the district’s people's hospital has been designated as the medical institution to improve the medical treatment and physical examination services for vulnerable families. Furthermore, hospital guides, social workers, or volunteers are recruited to provide them with medical guidance, accompanying diagnosis, and care services.
