The 18th China (Shenzhen) International Logistics and Supply Chain Fair, held from Sept. 23-25, 2024, at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center, successfully brought together global logistics leaders. YANTIAN, a major player in the shipping industry, was among the key participants, collaborating with industry leaders to explore emerging trends, expand into new markets, and strengthen partnerships for shared success.

This year’s fair reached new heights, spanning nearly 100,000 square meters and featuring over 70 forums and business events. It attracted nearly 2,000 exhibitors from 51 countries and regions. As part of the event’s 30th anniversary celebrations of the Shenzhen Logistics & Supply Chain Management Association, Lawrence Shum, managing director of Hutchison Ports YANTIAN, was invited for a special interview in the “Top Talk” series. During the interview, Shum shared insights into YANTIAN’s competitive edge, development plans, and sustainability initiatives, offering a deep perspective on the future of the logistics and supply chain industry.

YANTIAN also hosted two customer receptions during the fair, welcoming esteemed guests such as Han Liqing, director of the Shenzhen Municipal Transport Bureau, Sun Weiping, president of the Shenzhen Logistics & Supply Chain Management Association, and Zheng Yanling, the association’s secretary general. Representatives from major shipping companies, third-party logistics providers, cargo owners, freight forwarders, and Hutchison Ports’ global network were also in attendance. The receptions provided a platform for valuable discussions on industry trends and opportunities to shape the future of shipping and logistics.

During the reception, Shum reflected on YANTIAN’s ongoing participation in the fair. “The fair has reached its 18th edition, and YANTIAN has proudly been part of it from the beginning. This event gives us the chance to envision and shape the future of shipping and logistics together. I am deeply grateful to our friends and partners for their unwavering support,” he stated.

Shum also emphasized the collective effort behind YANTIAN’s success. “Our achievements are the result of strong government leadership, innovation from port supervisory authorities, the hard work of our staff, and the trust of our customers and stakeholders both at home and abroad. This shared success is an honor for all of us, and I sincerely thank everyone who has been part of our journey,” said Shum.
