On Sept. 27, Yantian District took a significant step toward becoming a hub for cultural and film production with the launch of the Yantian Urban Mountain-Sea Film Studio. The unveiling ceremony, held at Wutong Pavilion in Enshang Wetland, marked the official start of this ambitious initiative aimed at capitalizing on Yantian’s unique mountain and coastal resources to foster the growth of the film industry.
At the event, the Yantian Urban Mountain-Sea Film Studio and the Film and Cultural Services Center were officially inaugurated. These new facilities are designed to provide extensive support for film production teams, offering services ranging from location scouting to logistical coordination, further solidifying Yantian’s commitment to the industry.
As part of the initiative, Yantian’s four subdistricts and the Chung Ying Street Administration Bureau were awarded official plaques designating them as the first “Yantian Urban Mountain-Sea Film Studio Filming Locations.” This recognition underscores Yantian’s readiness to serve as a filming destination, inviting production teams to utilize its diverse and scenic landscapes. In addition, agreements were signed with key stakeholders, including investment firms, production companies, and service providers, to promote the studio’s long-term development.
The ceremony also featured the premiere of the trailer for the upcoming TV series “Xian Ge” (Ballad of Strings), which is set to begin filming in Yantian on September 28. With a highly acclaimed production team, the series is expected to enhance Yantian’s growing profile in the entertainment industry.
Additionally, the studio announced the near completion of its latest short drama, “Rebirth 1983” (also known as My Journey to Peking University in the 1980s), produced by the Film and Cultural Services Center. The series is scheduled for an online release in October and is anticipated to resonate with a broad audience.
With its picturesque landscapes and robust support for the creative industries, the Yantian Urban Mountain-Sea Film Studio represents a new chapter in the district’s efforts to blend culture and innovation, positioning itself as a premier destination for filmmakers.
