A new shipping route between Yantian International Container Terminals (YICT) and Los Angeles (LA), the U.S., was officially launched May 5, as a container ship named RENJIAN berthed at Yantian Port. The route enables a container ship to directly sail from YICT to Los Angeles in 16 days, according to DT News.
CULINES launched its first scheduled service to the U.S. from South China, which is called TPC route.
The TPC route’s expected time of berth is every Thursday at YICT, the last loading point in China, and every Sunday in a designated port in Los Angeles.
After sailing from YICT, containers will arrive directly in Los Angeles in 16 days. The new route will facilitate foreign trade and help ease the pressure on the transport of exported goods, said the report.
CULINES has arranged six fixed container ships and one backup ship to ensure smooth and quality services. Moreover, there are four kinds of fast pick-up services available at the designated port in Los Angeles.
Since this year, YICT has added eight new shipping routes, bringing its total international shipping routes to more than 100. Over 60% of its international routes run to European countries and the U.S., covering almost all main ports in the U.S.’ east and west coasts, Europe and Canada.
Cen Qicheng, general manager of YICT, said given that global supply chain has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, YICT had cooperated with shipping companies to launch and upgrade more routes to support logistics in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The TPC route allows YICT to have larger operations in the Pacific, and YICT will continue to make all-out efforts to further its role in supporting the global supply chain, Cen was quoted as saying.
