On Oct. 20, a large-scale collective wedding ceremony took place at Dameisha Seaside Park in Shenzhen’s Yantian District, uniting 77 couples under the theme “Hand in Hand, Together Toward the Sea and Mountains.” The event, part of the relaunch of the “Dragon and Phoenix Ceremony” brand, was also the first major wedding celebration since Yantian announced its vision to become a “Global Wedding Capital.”
The ceremony began with grooms kneeling to present bouquets to their brides, followed by the couples collectively reciting their wedding vows. In the presence of officiants, witnesses, and guests, the couples exchanged commemorative rings and pledged lifelong devotion. The rings, titled “Tied in Happiness” and designed by Xifu Gold Jewelry, drew inspiration from traditional Chinese “hair-knotting” marriage customs, symbolizing unity and lifelong commitment.
For many, the event was deeply meaningful. Bride Fang, who met her husband in Shenzhen, described the wedding as “simple yet heartfelt,” adding that the ceremony’s seaside setting perfectly embodied the promise of ‘mountain alliances and sea oaths.’ Liu, a guest who traveled from Hubei to attend her son’s wedding, praised the event’s joyful and streamlined nature. “It was a wonderful experience. I even livestreamed the ceremony for relatives back home, so they could share the moment with us.”
The ceremony highlighted Yantian’s growing focus on wedding tourism and its efforts to position itself as a destination for romantic celebrations, blending tradition with modern experiences in a scenic coastal setting.
