From: Shenzhen Daily | Updated:2024-12-11

The Top 10 Shenzhen Artisans for 2024 were announced during the opening ceremony of the 4th Shenzhen Artisan Week, held at Shenzhen Talent Park in Nanshan District on Dec.10.

The awardees represent various fields, including nuclear power, automation equipment, supportive technology for people with disabilities, and agricultural quality testing.

“It is a great honor to win this title,” said Xiao Qingxiong, a selected artisan who works as an electrical engineer at Shenzhen Liande Automation Equipment. “Our goal is to continuously improve our automation equipment and elevate it to a leading level within the country. As an engineer responsible for research and development, my job is to help cultivate more talent with professional skills.”

An exhibition was held to showcase craftsmanship across diverse fields, such as intelligent manufacturing, Cantonese cuisine, new energy vehicles, artificial intelligence, autonomous driving, and semiconductors.

Bao Hui, an interior designer, presented a project that featured children’s drawings of structures in Shenzhen and futuristic architectural designs. He hopes to use this initiative to foster students’ interest in arts. Bao, who has more than 30 years of experience in interior design, said, “We must keep improving to refine our art.”

In the coming week, over 30 activities — including skill training courses, exchanges between skilled talent, and artisan lectures at campuses — will be held across the city.

According to Ma Yan, deputy director of the Shenzhen Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, the city boasts a total of 4.03 million skilled professionals, with 38.5% having received senior titles.
